Atlanta Fed Regional Convening: Creating a More Inclusive Economy: Igniting Systems that Produce Results for Youth Employment
March 5, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is hosting a regional convening, “Creating a More Inclusive Economy: Igniting Systems that Produce Results for Youth Employment,” on Monday, March 5th, 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and Tuesday, March 6th, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The event is sponsored by CLASP, MDC Inc., and the Atlanta Fed, in partnership with Opportunity Youth United and Cities United. This convening will engage stakeholders from across the Southeast in strategic dialogue on behalf of low-income youth and young adults.
Despite booming business and economic development across the Southeast, key sectors of the public are being left out: youth and young adults from low-income backgrounds—and especially opportunity youth (young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 who are not connected to school or work). Because opportunity youth are key to the region’s future workforce, we cannot afford to allow their talents to go to waste.
Join other regional leaders as we discuss how we can build and fund supportive systems at scale and implement policies to develop this vital talent pipeline and help youth gain the critical skills they need to access employment and career pathways that lead to economic opportunity.
