Fathers Incorporated is hosting a Professional Development Webinar on What About Dad? Training for Human Service Providers to Effectively Engage Non-Resident Fathers on Wednesday, July 22^nd, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

This 2 hour training explores the role and practice of human service professionals and how they can effectively engage non-resident fathers by understanding issues of power, gender, race, and socioeconomic status of professionals and the fathers and families they serve.  The way service providers view and treat fathers is important because the pre-suppositions, life experiences and cultural influences of these workers can themselves be barriers or opportunities to effective compliance and healthy, effective client engagement.  These complex issues point to the need for a deeper understanding of the relational dynamics between agency/service staff and young men and fathers as the basis for developing strategies for effective training.  This Training will assist providers in effectively engaging with men and fathers; thereby, strengthening social and economic outcomes for the men and the communities in which they will reside.
