honorCode is hosting the 2018 Teacher Academy for Education Professionals from Monday, June 11th, to Friday, June 15th, in Atlanta, GA. The honorCode Teacher Academy program was created to cultivate teacher leadership capacity by exploring multiple dimensions of self and culture while learning how to bring employer-aligned project-based learning into their classrooms. The program goals are to (1) prepare teachers to weave Computer Science and Social-Emotional Learning into their classrooms and (2) build a Professional Learning Community prepared to leverage corporate and industry professionals to enhance K12 education.
honorCode is looking to train over fifty (50) K12 educators through this flagship program, and the support does not end in June. After the academy, the group will continue to meet once-a-month as a cohort through the 2018-2019 school year to support these educators moving the needle in their classrooms and also communities. Through the 10-month experience, teachers will also have direct opportunities through the 2018-2019 school year to make relationships with some key industries to leverage their resources within your schools and organizations.
