Metro Atlanta Chamber: Metro Atlanta Talent Pipeline Report Sneak Peak Session
May 21 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
The Metro Atlanta Chamber is hosting a Metro Atlanta Talent Pipeline Report Experiential Learning Workshop on Tuesday, May 21st, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at the Metro Atlanta Chamber – Board Room.
The workshop will provide a sneak peak into a report that reviews an analysis of interests vs. aptitudes of 21,000 high school students across Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Gwinnett, and Fulton counties using data from YouScience. It reveals how students match up with the region’s top industries such as Healthcare, Information Technology, Distribution & Logistics, Construction, and Manufacturing.
YouScience data shows that only 22% of female students and 31% and 43% of Black and Hispanic students showed interest in high demand fields, while 78% – 79% showed high aptitude. Engaging employers in education is critical to closing the skills gap and fostering economic inclusion by attracting students and jobseekers into the workforce by increasing interest in high demand fields utilizing student aptitudes to target work-based learning opportunities in these fields.
