Partnership for Southern Equity: Virtual Learning and the Diverse Workforce Part 2 Session on Experiences of Students and Families

October 29, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Partnership for Southern Equity, through its Just Opportunity Circle, is hosting its Virtual Learning and the Diverse Workforce Part 2 Session on Experiences of Students and Families on Thursday, October 29th, at 11:00 AM.

Distance learning has forced many parents to become both teacher and breadwinner for their homes, blurring the lines between education and workforce and amplifying the need for family social and economic supports.  The session will further explore this evolving dynamic by uplifting the experiences of students and families as they navigate the challenges of virtual learning. Joining us will be parent advocates Kimberly Dukes of Atlanta Thrive, a representative from the Latino Association of Parents for Public Schools (LAPPS), and some local students who will discuss the transition to virtual learning and the areas for needed support.
