Atlanta Technical College is launching an ambitious, innovative collaboration to incubate and invest in training programs to guide students to success in Atlanta’s highest-demand career fields.
The Center for Workforce Innovation has deep support and engagement from the public, private, and nonprofit communities, and its individual programs will each be sponsored by one or more of Atlanta’s Fortune 1000 companies. The Center’s goal is to upskill workers over the next 5 years to bring Atlanta to the median amongst southern peer cities on measures of economic mobility and to provide employers in the region with critical talent in high-demand fields. The Center will scale up rapidly, and its models and best practices will transform the entire College.
The Executive Director will lead the launch of the Center for Workforce Innovation, report to the President of ATC, and collaborate closely witH industry partners, to stand up 3 pilot programs (skilled trades, avionics, and IT/coding) for the 2019-2020 academic year.
The Center for Workforce Innovation will serve as a pilot and a proof point to guide workforce development initiatives across the entire Metro Atlanta region. The Executive Director is responsible for the achievement of services, goals and objectives and acts as liaison with all divisions to ensure day-to-day operations are handled appropriately.
