The Urban League of Greater Atlanta – @Promise Center
MISSION
The Urban League of Greater Atlanta has been all about economic empowerment since we opened our doors more than 98 years ago, as part of a broader, National Urban League network of 98 historic civil rights organizations throughout the United States—all dedicated to fostering economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities. Our mission is to enable and empower African Americans and others to achieve their highest human potential and secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. We focus on six key tenets of economic empowerment: (1) education and job skills training, (2) employment, careers and entrepreneurship, (3) housing and community development, (4) financial literacy and wealth creation, (5) youth empowerment, and (6) civic engagement and leadership.
