MAX ALERT: 11Alive Launches “Better Work, Brighter Future” Initiative to Strengthen Workforce Development

April 28, 2025

Atlanta, GA – 11Alive, in collaboration with CareerRise and local businesses, is proud to announce the launch of Better Work, Brighter Future, a community-driven workforce development initiative designed to connect Atlantans with valuable job opportunities, training programs, and career advancement resources.

This transformative campaign aims to spotlight the critical efforts being made in Atlanta to bridge employment gaps and create pathways to sustainable, well-paying jobs in high-demand industries, including information technology, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, and skilled trades. Through comprehensive storytelling, media coverage, and strategic partnerships, Better Work, Brighter Future provides a platform to empower individuals and build economic stability for generations to come.

“Our mission with this initiative is to highlight the incredible work happening across Atlanta in the area of workforce development, offering our viewers solutions that can improve their lives,” said Kristie Gonzales, President of WXIA-TV, 11Alive and VP Media Ops TEGNA. “By using our media platforms, we can raise awareness, connect job seekers with employers, and ultimately help transform lives through meaningful career opportunities.”

Key Initiative Components:

  • Unique storytelling: Featuring compelling stories of individuals benefiting from workforce programs, broadcast across 11Alive, its digital platforms, and social media channels.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating sponsor partners, employers, nonprofit organizations and educational institutions to provide training, certifications, and direct job placement.
  • Community Engagement: Raising awareness for the community on events, job fairs, and interactive forums that foster connections between job seekers and industry leaders.
  • Sponsorship Opportunities: Companies are able to showcase their commitment to workforce development through brand association with Better Work, Brighter Future and 11Alive’s trusted platforms.

Driving Impact Through Media and Community Collaboration

The campaign is integrated into 11Alive’s regular news coverage, led by anchor Cheryl Preheim, who brings inspiring stories of success and highlights available resources for Atlanta residents looking to advance their careers.   Additionally, sponsors have opportunities to feature their workforce development efforts through workforce development marketing campaigns on 11Alive’s broadcast and streaming platforms.

With a multi-platform strategy, Better Work, Brighter Future seeks to reach job seekers where they are, whether through traditional broadcasts, online content, or targeted streaming campaigns. This initiative will not only amplify Atlanta’s workforce development programs but also serve as a catalyst for economic mobility and empowerment.

Join Us in Building a Brighter Future

11Alive invites businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders to join in this crucial effort. By participating in Better Work, Brighter Future, partners can make a lasting impact on Atlanta’s workforce, helping individuals gain the skills and opportunities needed to succeed.
