Federal Reserve System: Racism and the Economy: Focus on the Economics Profession (Webinar)

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta invites you to attend the Federal Reserve System’s next Racism and the Economy webinar on the Focus on the Economics Profession on Tuesday, April 13^th, from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM.

This session will focus on how racism affects the people and practice of economics. Panelists will discuss the factors that contribute to the underrepresentation of people of color in economics as well as strategies to increase inclusion at every level, from recruitment and hiring to mentoring and publishing. The discussion will then examine what questions economists have ignored and how their assumptions around race and racism can be incomplete and problematic. These insights will inform a conversation about how to improve economics research practices and professional processes to achieve greater diversity, expand avenues of inquiry, and better inform public policy.
