To do this\, he has imposed tariffs on a number of countries\, reduced regulations\, proposed tax cuts\, and moved away from some energy efficiency standards. At the six-month point in Trump’s presidency\, how should people assess his manufacturing policies? What are the lessons from his tariff impositions\, regulatory reforms\, and efficiency standard shifts? To what extent has his administration achieved its stated goals? What can policymakers do to move forward in the future? On July 10th\, as part of the fourteenth annual John Hazen White Forum on Public Policy\, Governance Studies at Brookings will host a two-panel discussion about manufacturing policy under the Trump administration.
