SUMMARY:National Association of Counties (NACo): Countdown to LUCA: Practical Strategies for Local\, Tribal\, and State Governments
DESCRIPTION:The National Association of Counties (NACo) is hosting Countdown to LUCA: Practical Strategies for Local\, Tribal\, and State Governments on Wednesday\, October 28th\, from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM. \nThe 2030 Census Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) operation may seem distant\, but preparation begins well before the official launch in May 2027. Join NACo and the National League of Cities (NLC)\, in partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau\, for the first webinar in a series focused on practical steps communities can take to prepare for effective participation. LUCA is the only opportunity for local\, Tribal and state governments to review and correct the Census Bureau’s residential address list before the census begins\, a critical step to ensuring an accurate and complete count. An accurate count directly affects the distribution of federal funding for programs and services for the next decade. \nThis webinar will feature Census activities currently underway in rural communities\, urban neighborhoods and Tribal Nations. Speakers will demonstrate what effective early preparation looks like\, share lessons learned and discuss strategies that leaders can use to improve address data\, engage stakeholders and position their communities for a successful LUCA operation. \nClick here to learn more and register.

SUMMARY:National Association of Counties (NACo): 2026 Fall Board of Directors Meeting and Building Better Futures: A County Leaders’ Symposium on Youth Outcomes
DESCRIPTION:The National Association of Counties (NACo) is hosting the 2026 Fall Board of Directors Meeting and Building Better Futures: A County Leaders’ Symposium on Youth Outcomes starting Thursday\, December 3rd through Saturday\, December 5th\, at the Omni Charlotte Hotel. \nCounty leaders partner every day with families\, community organizations and private businesses to improve outcomes for young people\, especially our most vulnerable. Yet even as we make pockets of progress\, an important question remains: How can we build better futures for our youth? \nHosted by NACo Incoming President George Dunlap as part of his presidential spotlight\, in partnership with NACo’s Board of Directors and Large Urban County Caucus\, “Building Better Futures: A County Leaders’ Symposium on Youth Outcomes” will focus on practical strategies and collaborative approaches that counties can advance at the local level—from proven prevention and early intervention models to cross-sector partnerships that align resources and expand opportunity. Participants will leave with actionable ideas\, stronger partnerships and a shared commitment to measurable outcomes for vulnerable youth. Because lasting progress doesn’t happen by accident\, it happens when counties lead. \nClick here to learn more and register.
