Literacy Action

MISSION

Literacy Action’s mission is to build better futures by empowering adults with literacy, life, and work skills. Our vision is to break the intergenerational cycle of low literacy and poverty.

Each year, we provide approximately 850 students with classes in adult basic education (including several levels of math and language arts), GED preparation, High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), English as a Second Language, as well as supplemental offerings in digital literacy, family literacy, and career development. Through an “E3” model focused on Education, Employment, and Economic Development, we provide our students with holistic support that integrates core educational and work-readiness services with access to vocational training, a strong employment network, and the types of career ladders that promote economic stability.

Interested participants can call (404) 818-7323 or complete the pre-registration form at literacyaction.org/student-pre- registration. Our Academic Affairs team will be in touch via email or phone number provided in the form to schedule a virtual orientation!
