MAX Academy on Practices In Workforce Attraction, Retention & Outcomes Moves to August 2023

July 22, 2023

Powered by the Technical College System of Georgia.

The Great Resignation… The Great Reset… The Great Reshuffling… Quiet Quitting… Quiet Hiring…

These are just a few of the terms we’ve heard tossed around in recent years as we’ve tried to make sense of what we’re observing in the workforce. However, when we describe what we’re seeing, one thing is for sure: we are navigating unchartered waters with respect to attracting and retaining individuals in our training programs and at the workplace.

On Thursday, August 24th, we will learn more about recent workforce trends and what they mean for our efforts to serve both the job seeker and employer through workforce development. We will hear from organizations that have employed best practices when it comes to attracting and retaining workers and achieving meaningful outcomes. And we will together consider how we can replicate these practices throughout our region and state.

Speakers representing high-performing providers will join us to share best practices:

  • Moses Delaney, Campus Director, Heavy Equipment Colleges of America
  • Avenelle Thomas, Director, Education & Career Resources of Georgia

CREDENTIALED TRAINING

Both IAWP and NAWDP recognize training programs held through the MAX Academy as relevant training hours for their certification programs. Hours spent attending MAX Academy workshops can count as training hours for earning a Certified Workforce Professional (CWP) credential from IAWP and also as professional development (continuing education) hours for CWP recertification. For NAWDP’s Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP), NAWDP will accept MAX Academy training hours toward the professional development hours required for CWDP recertification.

The workshop will be submitted to the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) for approval to count for 3 hours of continuing education for Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs).

REGISTRATION

Join us for a day of learning and networking! The registration fee for this training is $25.00 for MAX members and $45.00 for non-members.

Because we recognize the value of having multiple team members from the same organization participate so concepts and practices may be discussed and reinforced, discounts are available when multiple staff from the same agency register for the workshop as follows:

MAX Members: $25.00 for the first registration and $15.00 for each additional registration from the same organization.

Non-Members: $45.00 for the first registration and $35.00 for each additional registration from the same organization.
