The 2024 Innovating Georgia’s Workforce Pipeline Conference will be held by the Carl Vinson Institute of Government (CVIOG) from Tuesday, November 12th to Wednesday, November 13th, in Athens, Georgia. Breakout sessions will be a key component of the conference. They enable our attendees to share, learn, converse, and interact with one another on topics of mutual interest. CVIOG invites individuals or organizations to submit proposals by Monday, March 11, 2024.
About the Conference
The 2023 Innovating Georgia’s Workforce Pipeline Conference included over 300 attendees and 70 speakers from across the workforce ecosystem in Georgia. Attendees and speakers included representatives from state and local K-12 education and post-secondary institutions, as well as employers and community workforce stakeholders and everyone in between.
The 2024 conference will be held in-person, enabling you to make new connections with your peers and present your efforts to a large audience. Through a variety of keynote and plenary speakers and breakout sessions, the conference will allow for extensive networking and the opportunity to see community, workforce, and economic development in action.
Session Ideas
Proposals are encouraged (but not required) to address one or more of the following ideas as they relate to the theme of Innovating Georgia’s Workforce Pipeline.
- Strategies to Expand the Workforce/Reconnecting Workers to Employers
- Employer-Led Solutions to Workforce Development
- Addressing Barriers to Work (e.g. Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Housing, Childcare, Transportation, etc.)
- Microsolutions (i.e. Small Replicable Steps for Communities & Businesses to Follow)
- Emerging Technology & Workforce Development
Instructions and Guidelines
- Session proposals are due by 5:00 pm EST on March 11, 2024.
- Please submit proposals via our submission tool here. Only proposals submitted via the submission tool will be considered. If you have questions about the survey tool or data entry, please contact us.
- Limit proposal descriptions to 300 words. Proposals that go over the word limit will not be considered.
- We have a limit of two proposals per individual or organization.
- Proposals may not be submitted on behalf of another organization, but collaborative proposals are encouraged.
- There will be no compensation for speaking at the event.
- If you propose a panel, you will be responsible for confirming that panel’s speakers, managing topics of focus, and organizing bios to submit to the Institute of Government prior to the event.
- The Institute of Government reserves the right to edit or make changes to proposed session titles, descriptions, modes of presentation, panels, and moderators. Note that proposal ideas that complement each other may be combined into one session.
- The number of session slots is limited. The Institute of Government will provide a response to all submitted proposals no later than April 15, 2024.
- Information about a prorated speaker registration fee will be sent following session selection.
