The Metro Atlanta Chamber is seeking a Program Director to assist in crafting, developing, and executing a new talent initiative that directly connects Metro Atlanta Chamber investor companies with previously untapped pools of talent in the larger metro region.
Summary:
The Program Director is responsible for leading the development and execution of the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s (MAC) jobs-first, pilot program based on the Skills for America’s Future model. The Director will manage the program rollout and develop relevant partnerships with employers and community-based organizations, while managing the staff associated with Skills. This individual will work under the Senior Director, Talent Development, and in close partnership with the Director of Talent Partnerships and the Manager of the ATL Talent Collaborative, and the Skills for America’s Future national expansion team.
The ideal candidate can manage relationships with business, education, and community leaders and is able to manage multiple projects with ease. The candidate will communicate in a strong, positive, and effective manner, both verbally and non-verbally, and be a self-starter with the ability to sustain and move work forward with minimal direction. All MAC employees are expected to work collaboratively with other MAC departments and be team players to help accomplish our organizational mission.
This position is partially funded through a 26-month grant with, upon successful completion of grant objectives, a possibility for renewal.
Work Program:
- Successfully launch MAC’s regional jobs-first hiring initiative, including the development of goals and tactics of the Skills for America’s Future model
- Maintain consistent and effective relationships with MAC investor companies that are participating in our Skills program efforts
- Manage and mentor talent acquisition staff, and others as assigned
- In conjunction with other MAC staff, oversee hiring events for the Skills program
- Participate in MAC’s Talent Collaborative including completing the Talent Pipeline Management program through the US Chamber Foundation
- Promote the skills model both publicly with partners and prospective companies and privately with MAC investors
- Direct public inquiries appropriately
- Attend community meetings and participate as an informed expert in community and partnership events including some public speaking and presentation
- Assist with scheduling and attending meetings & webinars related to MACs talent work and the Skills model implementation
- Assist directly in the development, implementation and maintenance of a contact database for Skills and other related talent work
- Collaboratively manage communications processes for MAC investors participating in the Skills model
- This position may involve interaction with minors and diverse individuals. Strict adherence to MAC policies is required.
- Collect and report on program metrics to MAC leadership and provide necessary grant reports on programmatic activity.
