The 100.000 Opportunities Initiative™ has chosen the Atlanta region as their next stop, following successful ventures in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. Launched in August 2015, the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative™ is the largest employer-led coalition focused on hiring opportunity youth. As opportunity youth face systemic barriers to employment and education, the coalition aims to change hiring, retention and advancement strategies and create opportunities for employment, internships, and apprenticeships. The 100,000 Opportunities Initiative™ is a unique alliance of private, public and philanthropic organizations working together to help the youth overcome these barriers.
The 100,000 Opportunities Initiative™ coming to Atlanta was announced through a kickoff event at The Arthur M. Blank Family Office on Wednesday, January 31st, with representatives from government, community based organizations, employers, and others. MAX is honored to serve as a supportive partner in these efforts.
On Thursday, May 3rd, the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative will host an Opportunity Youth Job and Resource Fair, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Georgia World Congress Center. These efforts will be followed by 18 months of continual work to connect opportunity youth with employers in our region.
