The 100,000 Opportunities Initiative™, a coalition of America’s leading companies and foundations, joined forces with Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and more than 75 local leaders and service providers to host an Atlanta Opportunity Fair for youth, ages 16 to 24, at the Georgia World Congress Center on Thursday, May 3rd. The fair was an exciting start to an 18-month program to connect youth in the Atlanta region to employers and resources for advancing their career pathways.
More than 2,400 young adults participated in the Atlanta Opportunity Fair, the seventh fair of its kind in the nation, and thousands more registered to be engaged with the initiative in the coming months. The fair served as an inspirational day to help the youth connect with more than 20 leading companies and a full suite of services, empowering workshops, and resources to help break down barriers.
MAX is honored to serve as a supportive partner in these efforts. Says MAX Chair Wendell Dallas, “The 100,000 Opportunities Initiative™ is a phenomenal initiative for our business community to commit to providing a supportive network that assists youth with achieving employment in metro Atlanta.”
Formed in August 2015, the 100,000 Opportunities Initiative™ is the nation’s largest employer-led coalition committed to creating meaningful pathways and hiring at least 1 million opportunity youth by 2021. For more information, visit https://www.100kopportunities.org/our-communities/atlanta/.
