MAX ALERT: Goodwill of North Georgia Increases Opportunities to Enhance Digital Skills

October 1, 2018

In recent months, Goodwill of North Georgia has launched a number of expanded efforts to enhance the digital skills of job seekers in metro Atlanta and beyond:

  • Job seekers can now earn the nationally recognized NorthStar Certification for many basic computer skills including General Computer Skills, Internet Skills, and Email through Goodwill.  More advanced users can earn NorthStar Certification in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point.
  • Individuals seeking an entry or mid-level digital career can now access specialized training ranging from Computer Tech Support to Software Developer through Goodwill’s digital skills partner, TechBridge.
  • A new Google® initiative and partnership is designed to help job seekers put digital skills into action.  Job seekers are able to take self-paced training modules on a variety of topics.  In these training modules, individuals showcase their ability to use cloud-based tools to perform tasks like creating a budget, planning an event, and using looking for a job.

More information on these services, including availability and locations, is available at www.CareerConnector.org.
