With access to insights from over 150 million workers in the U.S. with LinkedIn profiles and more than 20,000 companies in the U.S. that use LinkedIn to recruit, the business and employment-oriented service company’s LinkedIn Workforce Report is a monthly report on employment trends in the U.S. workforce. The report includes localized information for 20 major metro areas, including Atlanta.
Subject to the degree at which individuals update their profiles, the report provides a snapshot on hiring activities, the skills that are more or less abundant, and workforce migration patterns. For example, the May 2019 report indicates that hiring in metro Atlanta increased 9.4 percent from April 2018 to April 2019, notably outpacing the nation.
The report also reveals skill surpluses and shortages. According to the January report, the top three skill surpluses in Atlanta are (1) procurement, (2) negotiation, and (3) management accounting. Conversely, the top three skill shortages are (1) oral communication, (2) business management, and (3) leadership.
