Under broad supervision, the District EEO Officer investigates and evaluates complaints related to discrimination or illegal practices in housing and employment. The EEO Officer ensures practices are in compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. Job duties include:
- Implement, administer and monitor the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations and policies, to include, Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and 49 CFR part 26.
- Review, investigate and advise individuals regarding complaints, compliance and expectations to ensure Agency policies and practices are compliant with federal and State laws.
- Monitor assigned contractors to ensure compliance with federal EEO guidelines and DBE considerations.
- Coordinate and conduct training for district employees for various EEO, Affirmative Action and civil rights issues. Implements, administers and monitors the Georgia Department of Transportation’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations and policies, to include, Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and 49 CFR part 26.
- Review, investigate and advise the district personnel regarding complaints, compliance and training expectations.
