From the Fulton County Department of Community Development:
Fulton County residents living outside the city of Atlanta can apply for emergency assistance for rent and utilities (water, gas, power) resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Residents must meet eligibility requirements established by the federal government, including:
- One or more individuals within the household has qualified for unemployment benefits or experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced other financial hardship due, directly or indirectly, to the COVID-19 outbreak;
- One or more individuals within the household can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and
- The household’s income is at or below 80% of the area median income.
Households affected by unemployment for 90 days or more, households with incomes at or below 50% AMI, and households with documented eviction will be prioritized.
The program offers funding for up to 15 months arrears/past due rent, up to 3 months prospective/future rent, and up to 15 months of past due utility bills. There is no award cap for rent and utilities.
