As MAX embarks on Year 2 as a membership association, our leaders look forward to helping our members explore how best to engage in MAX. During our MAX Minutes on January 21st, MAX leaders provided an overview on the “MAX Member Value,” that is our programs, services, and other benefits available for our members.
Here are some highlights from the session:
- MAX Board Chair John Helton with Atlanta CareerRise opened with welcoming remarks, acknowledging the importance of the MAX Anchor Investors who make our work as a professional membership organization of choice possible, and introducing the 2022 MAX Board of Directors.
- MAX Vice Chair Jenny Taylor with Goodwill of North Georgia reviewed MAX’s mission and role in both building community and building capacity amongst those serving in workforce development, and discussed the goals of MAX and why MAX is successful in bringing people together.
- MAX Past Chair Amy Lancaster-King with WorkSource Atlanta reviewed how MAX serves in the region by: (1) building awareness through information brokerage, fostering knowledge-acquisition and skill-building, (3) fostering alignment as a neutral convenor, and (4) raising visibility about workforce assets and opportunities.
- MAX Provider Council Chair Dana Inman with the Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency capped off the session with the 22 ways to maximize the value of your membership in 2022…and beyond, honing in on specific opportunities to engage in MAX and more actively connect to a strong and dynamic network of workforce professionals.
The session was moderated by MAX Board Secretary and program lead for MAX Minutes Daniela Perry with the Georgia Chamber. It was inspired by a recommendation received through the 2021 MAX Annual Survey to provide a MAX member orientation.
