From Black Panther and Spider-Man to The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, and the latest creation by Tyler Perry, Georgia has seen an unprecedented number of film and television productions in the Atlanta area and beyond in these pandemic times. According to the Georgia Film Office, these productions set a new record with $4 billion in direct spending in the state in 2021. And according to the Georgia Department of Labor, film and video editors, media and communications workers, and film-related equipment workers are projected to be among the 20 fastest growing occupations through 2028.
On Wednesday, March 23rd, Travell Blake, a Location Manager in the film and television production industry who has worked on more than 35 productions, will join MAX to discuss the pressing workforce needs in this industry and how workforce developers can help. Joined by Roberta Baker, the Set South Production Assistant Training Program Manager, they will discuss a unique partnership with The Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Film & Entertainment (AMOFE) to expand and diversify the workforce to support this burgeoning industry.
