The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) has approved the MAX Academy on the Interconnectedness of Skills-based Coaching and Equitable Approaches on March 29th as training that counts as continuing education hours for Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs). Special thanks to Goodwill of North Georgia for serving as the sponsor with the CRCC for this workshop.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Powered by the Markle Foundation
Skills-based coaching focuses on exposing, expanding, and engaging the skills of job-seekers as a pathway towards obtaining quality jobs. Skills-based coaching is an equitable approach practitioners implement to empower individuals that have limited access and opportunities as a result of an over reliance on degrees and credentials. With the needs of the workforce shifting skills-based coaching is well-positioned to move beyond a career coaching strategy and emerge as the standard for effective career coaching.
The objective of this workshop is to provide a framework that will allow practitioners to explore the interconnectedness of equitable approaches and skills-based coaching facilitated through an interactive learning experience. Participants will be able to evaluate current strategies, and explore additional methods for applying an equitable and skills-based approach in interactions with job seekers.
Trenae Thomas, Manager, Career Coaching Initiatives, with the Markle Foundation, will lead the workshop.
The MAX Academy will take place on Wednesday, March 29th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Georgia Piedmont Technical College, DeKalb Conference Center.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
CREDENTIALED TRAINING
Both IAWP and NAWDP recognize training programs held through the MAX Academy as relevant training hours for their certification programs. Hours spent attending MAX Academy workshops can count as training hours for earning a Certified Workforce Professional (CWP) credential from IAWP and also as professional development (continuing education) hours for CWP recertification. For NAWDP’s Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP), NAWDP will accept MAX Academy training hours toward the professional development hours required for CWDP recertification.
The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) has approved this workshop to count for 3 hours of continuing education for Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs).
