PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Powered by the Technical College System of Georgia
The Great Resignation… The Great Reset… The Great Reshuffling… Quiet Quitting… Quiet Hiring…
These are just a few of the terms we’ve heard tossed around in recent years as we’ve tried to make sense of what we’re observing in the workforce. However, when we describe what we’re seeing, one thing is for sure: we are navigating unchartered waters with respect to attracting and retaining individuals in our training programs and at the workplace.
Our next MAX Academy will be held on Thursday, August 24th, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at Chattahoochee Technical College’s Marietta Campus.
We will learn more about recent workforce trends and what they mean for our efforts to serve both the job seeker and employer through workforce development. We will hear from organizations that have employed best practices when it comes to attracting and retaining workers and achieving meaningful outcomes. And we will together consider how we can replicate these practices throughout our region and state.
Joining our MAX Academy:
- Joshua Geyer and Damon Weller with the Technical College System of Georgia will share labor market information (LMI) and discuss the latest workforce trends.
- Norris Smith and Phyllis Jackson with WorkSource Atlanta Regional will discuss the processes for joining the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) and an overview of what it means to be on the ETPL.
- Moses Delaney with the Heavy Equipment Colleges of America and Avenelle Thomas, with Education & Career Resources of Georgia will share best practices in workforce attraction, attention, and outcomes from their high-performing organizations.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
CREDENTIALED TRAINING
Both IAWP and NAWDP recognize training programs held through the MAX Academy as relevant training hours for their certification programs. Hours spent attending MAX Academy workshops can count as training hours for earning a Certified Workforce Professional (CWP) credential from IAWP and also as professional development (continuing education) hours for CWP recertification. For NAWDP’s Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP), NAWDP will accept MAX Academy training hours toward the professional development hours required for CWDP recertification.
The workshop has been approved by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) to count for 3 hours of continuing education for Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs).

Join us for a day of learning and networking! The registration fee for this training is $25.00 for MAX members and $45.00 for non-members.

MAX Members: $25.00 for the first registration and $15.00 for each additional registration from the same organization.
Non-Members: $45.00 for the first registration and $35.00 for each additional registration from the same organization.
