On Friday, September 15th, Dr. Barbara Wall, Deputy Superintendent, and Patrick Ledford, Economic Development Liaison, with the Georgia Department of Education joined MAX to share the latest from Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE).
Ledford reviewed how CTAE is fulfilling its mission in educating Georgia’s future workforce by working with many key partners at the state and local levels to engage students in experiences that will prepare them for workplace success. Citing the great success that Georgia is experiencing in economic development, Ledford shared how CTAE makes a contribution by training the future talent pipeline of Georgia and providing direct access to this talent pipeline for business and industry.
Following Ledford, Dr. Wall discussed CTAE’s the newly developed strategic plan and the various ways workforce partners can join GDOE in implement this plan for the betterment of students throughout the state. The plan includes four strategic priorities for moving Georgia forward.
- Prioritize skill and industry alignment at the State and local level
- Ensure high-quality career development support for all CTAE students
- Enhance recruitment and retention efforts for the CTAE workforce
- Expand marketing and promotion efforts to enhance stakeholders’ awareness and perceptions of CTAE in Georgia.
