The Business & Immigration for Georgia (BIG) Partnership – a statewide partnership of business and civic leaders committed to strengthening Georgia’s economy by tapping into the potential in the state’s foreign-born communities – will host its 2nd Annual Global Talent Event in Atlanta on Thursday, January 18th.
Last year, Georgia’s premier business organizations, including all three top chambers of commerce, joined refugee and immigrant leaders in the heart of corporate Atlanta to support an innovative, new solution to Georgia’s workforce crisis – maximizing “global talent” or tapping into the largely overlooked pool of talent in the state’s rapidly-growing refugee and immigrant communities.
As pointed out during last year’s event, one-in-ten Georgians is foreign-born, bringing valuable skills and experience to the state from countries around the world. Yet, numerous regulatory and other barriers keep foreign-born Georgians from fully participating in the workforce, forcing them to accept low-skill jobs or move to more welcoming states. The January 2024 event will focus on the healthcare workforce. The event be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at a place to be determined. Stay tuned to MAX Mondays for further details.
