The BIG (Business and Immigration for Georgia) Partnership was founded in 2020 to better integrate talented individuals who’ve moved to Georgia from abroad into the state’s workforce. Each year, Georgia welcomes thousands of experienced doctors, dentists, IT specialists, skilled tradespersons and others who bring valuable skills and experience from countries around the world. Yet, too many end up in low-skill, low-pay jobs or moving out of state, due to outdated licensing rules and other barriers in our state.
Today, Georgia and the nation are facing unprecedented healthcare shortages, which hurt Georgians and Georgia businesses seeking to attract talent. BIG is leading a bipartisan campaign to modernize Georgia’s medical licensing rules to get experienced international physicians off the sidelines and back into practice in the communities where they are urgently needed.
