September is Workforce Development Month. Created in 2005 by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP), Workforce Development Month raises awareness about the importance of the work that workforce developers do in connecting employers with the skilled workforce they need.
How is MAX focusing on the important role of workforce developers this Workforce Development Month? With the launch of Leadership MAX (L-MAX), a leadership development program designed especially to help workforce developers grow and expand their potential for impact, MAX is excited to lift up and further equip the profession and professional . L-MAX will be comprised of a combination of full-day, field trip, and retreat style learning opportunities and projects over the course of a year. Our 2025 inaugural cohort will be announced during our MAX Annual Meeting in December and the program begins with an opening retreat in January 2025.
MAX is now seeking applications for our 2025 L-MAX class! A few things to note:
- L-MAX will include full-day, field trip, and retreat style learning opportunities and projects over the course of a year.
- L-MAX is for emerging, existing, and seasoned leaders a like.
- Our first cohort will be comprised of 20-30 professionals of diverse backgrounds.
- Content-specific Learning Days will be held on a monthly basis (second Thursdays), such as:
- Resource Development Day
- Business Engagement Day, etc.
- The 2025 Leadership MAX class will be announced at our MAX Annual Meeting on December 10, 2025.
