Members of our MAX Data Council and board of directors gathered last week to toast one of our MAX founders and founding chair of the MAX Data Council: Mike Carnathan Carnathan served as a key member of the research team that helped launch MAX in 2014 and stayed actively engaged in MAX since its inception. As founding chair of the MAX Data Council, Carnathan created the framework for the advisory council that works to better inform local and state policy makers and practitioners by amalgamating various data sources into a more comprehensive picture of the region with the intention of leading to better outcomes for job seekers and employers; create a peer learning network to empower and enhance the skill sets of research/data staff within entities; and identify opportunities for the more efficient use of data (including purchased data) among providers.’
On behalf of the MAX Board of Directors, vice chair Dana Inman presented Carnathan with the MAX Award that is reserved for MAX founders and other MAX leaders making a significant contribution to the execution of MAX. Joining Inman in celebrating Carnathan were Data Council chair Marion Phillips along with Jason Barringer, Metro Atlanta Chamber; Alex Conarton, Metro Atlanta Chamber; Dr. Jerry Parrish, Metro Atlanta Chamber; Dr. Victoria Seals, Atlanta Technical College; Joshua Williams, Georgia Piedmont Technical College; Jennifer Zeller, Georgia Power; and MAX facilitator Joy Wilkins.
Carnathan retired from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) after a 25-year career heading up research and analytics. Click here for his parting insights upon his retirement.
MAX thanks Mike Carnathan for his service to our MAX network, region, and state!
