For 12 years, Georgia has been recognized as the No. 1 state for business by Area Development Magazine. The Top States for Doing Business rankings from Area Development are determined by scores in 15 categories, based on input from approximately 50 leading site consultants nationwide. In 2025, Georgia ranked in the top five in 10 categories and again claimed the overall No. 1 ranking.
Significantly contributing to Georgia’s status as the top state for business is Georgia Power, the nation’s Top Utility in Economic Development for 27 consecutive years, according to Site Selection Magazine. Marion Phillips, Research Manager with Georgia Power, will join MAX to provide an annual economic development update, sharing highlights of Georgia’s progress over the last year.
