The National League of Cities (NLC) is hosting a Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO) 2024 Summer Convening on Monday, June 10th and Tuesday, June 11th, in Rancho Cordova, CA.
Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO), serves as a network for members to make meaningful connections with fellow Hispanic and Latino local officials, share best practices, and advocate for policies that benefit their community. This conference will be an excellent opportunity for attendees to connect with peers from across the country, learn what issues and projects municipalities in the area are taking on, and explore creative workshops to bring back tools and resources to enhance your city. This year, HELO is striving to bring local leaders resources in the following areas: immigration issues within the local nexus, workforce development, and disparate impacts of public safety, opioid crisis, and mental health on Latino/communities.
