  • Bonterra is hosting From Overwhelmed to Growth-Focused: Build Your Strategic Plan in 6 Months on Tuesday, June 2nd, starting at 1:00 PM. Here’s the reality for small nonprofit leaders: Strategic planning feels impossible when you’re already stretched thin managing programs, operations, AND fundraising. Without a clear roadmap, your best intentions stall, your board disengages, and growth feels out of reach. But here’s what we learned: It doesn’t have to be that way. StudentsCare, a lean nonprofit based in Pennsylvania, proved it. In just 6 months, they went from “we need a plan” to having a board-approved strategic roadmap that’s now actively guiding their fundraising, board engagement, and program growth. Save your seat today and walk away with a clear blueprint for your nonprofit’s next chapter of growth. This session explores how reimagining ownership—from broad-based worker equity to public-interest frameworks—can ensure that the AI-powered economy generates a true “social dividend” rather than a private windfall. • Brookings is hosting a webinar on the Past, Present, and Future of America’s School Boards on Monday, June 8th, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The 2020s have been a tumultuous time for America’s school boards. The decade opened with a pandemic that required board members to make hard decisions about school reopenings and safety protocols—decisions that proved divisive in many parts of the country. Disputes over polarizing issues related to race, gender, and sexuality followed, turning school board meetings into battlegrounds for the nation’s culture wars. Meanwhile, student achievement declined, absenteeism and disengagement increased, and AI-based technologies entered classrooms with little notice but profound implications. This webinar will accompany the release of two new Brookings reports on school boards. The first report analyzes how the COVID and culture-war conflicts affected school boards across the country. The second report presents findings from a nationally representative survey of school board members, documenting board members’ views and experiences and exploring what has changed since the onset of the pandemic. • The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is hosting HSAs in a High-Cost Economy – How Employers Can Drive Affordability and Engagement on Tuesday, June 9th, starting at 12:00 PM. Rising healthcare costs are putting pressure on both employers and employees. As deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses continue to climb, organizations are being asked to help staff manage affordability — without significantly increasing total rewards spend. Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) can play a critical role in this environment, but only when they’re designed, funded, and communicated with intention. Too often, HSAs are positioned as long-term savings vehicles or, conversely, as transactional spending accounts — leaving employees confused and under-engaged. In this session, we’ll show you how to reframe HSAs as a flexible affordability strategy that helps employees manage healthcare costs now while building long-term financial resilience. Employers will learn how plan design choices, employer contributions, and practical communication strategies can make HSAs feel attainable — not intimidating — across a diverse workforce. Attendees will walk away with concrete ideas to strengthen HSA engagement, lower financial friction for employees, and future-proof their total rewards strategy without chasing every new trend.
