MAX ALERT: Dozens of Fulton County Schools to Offer Free Summer Meals for Fulton County Children This Summer

June 2, 2019

The “Seamless Summer Meals” program begins June 5 at schools throughout the district.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) ensures children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. Starting this June, Fulton County Schools plans to serve over 4,500 meals a day at over 50 approved sites across the county as part of its annual Summer Feeding Program. Any child under age 18 may come and eat a summer meal.

Children do not need to be enrolled in Fulton County Schools to be served. All meals are provided at no cost in an effort to curb childhood hunger.

“For many families, schools are the one place their children can receive a nutritious meal. Our summer feeding program allows communities to continue feeding children when school is not in session,” said Alyssia Wright, executive director of the district’s School Nutrition Program, in a written statement.
