The Leadership MAX Alumni Network (“L-MAX Alumni Network”) is an officially recognized body of the Metro Atlanta eXchange for Workforce Solutions (MAX) established to facilitate Leadership MAX alumni engagement with MAX and the Leadership MAX program.
The L-MAX Alumni Network exists to strengthen and sustain the relationships built through Leadership MAX by fostering meaningful connections across cohorts, creating opportunities for continued engagement and collaboration, and ensuring that alumni remain an active and valued part of the broader MAX community. The network serves as a bridge between past, current, and future Leadership MAX participants, encouraging the exchange of ideas, experiences, expertise, and resources.
In addition to maintaining a strong cross-cohort network, the L-MAX Alumni Network provides practical expertise, knowledge, and operational support to MAX and future Leadership MAX cohorts. Through alumni engagement, mentorship, volunteer leadership, resource sharing, and strategic support, the network helps extend the impact of the Leadership MAX experience well beyond each individual cohort and strengthens the program for cohorts to come.
COMPOSITION
The L-MAX Alumni Network is comprised of graduates of Leadership MAX who are members of MAX in good standing. To plan and coordinate L-MAX Alumni Network efforts, the L-MAX Alumni Network shall nominate a Steering Committee. The Steering Committee shall nominate a chair and vice chair (future chair), for approval by the MAX Board of Directors, on an annual basis. The MAX Board of Directors shall also appoint a board liaison to serve as the formal connection between the Alumni Network and board of directors, ensuring alignment, communication, and support where needed.
ROLE
The L-MAX Alumni Network carries out the important role of keeping alumni connected with each other and to MAX in the following ways:
- Advances alumni engagement and professional growth through peer‑to‑peer empowerment, mentoring, and mutual aid.
- Coordinates opportunities for networking and ongoing community building among alumni.
- Works with the MAX Board of Directors to help maintain the quality, continuity, and practitioner-led learning model of the Leadership MAX program.
- Serves as a bridge between alumni, current and future Leadership MAX cohorts, and MAX.
- Champions the Leadership MAX program and MAX overall to recruit future members and partners.
- Supports MAX in advancing our mission of strengthening connections, collaborations, and practices among workforce developers and organizations engaged in workforce development.

JOINING THE ALUMNI NETWORK
The Leadership MAX Alumni Network is chaired by Brenda Johnson, CEO with The Collaborative Training Company. Leadership MAX alumni who are members of MAX in good standing are automatically added to the network. Alumni with questions should contact Brenda or the MAX office.
