MAX JOB BOARD: Crossroads Community Ministries Seeks Veterans Employment Specialist

From Crossroads Community Ministries (CCM):

Crossroads Community Ministries (CCM) is in the midst of an organizational transformation requiring a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and networking skills to serve as a Veterans Employment Specialist in our Crossroads Connect employment program.

Reporting to the Connect Program Manager, this role will work in tandem with the United Way’s SSVF program by establishing partnerships with non-profits, businesses, educational/vocational institutions, government agencies and collaborative networks to secure training, placement and support (including housing) for military veterans experiencing homelessness in their efforts to secure employment. In addition, this role will be responsible for recruiting, screening, supervising and follow-up with program participants, and for teaching a job readiness/life skills class.

The Veterans Employment Specialist will assist veterans in developing employability skills and appropriate behaviors needed to obtain and maintain employment. This position requires the ability to work with Veterans, meet monthly goals, exercise good judgment, and coordinate with a wide range of Veteran Service Organizations.
