MAX ALERT: Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Offers COVID-19 Employment & Training Assistance

May 20, 2020

From the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG):

The Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) Office of Workforce Development has been awarded a Dislocated Worker Grant by the U.S. Department of Labor. The grant, totaling $12 million, will help address workforce-related impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to read the announcement.

As many Georgia job seekers have experienced hardship due to a change in their employment status and the availability of training resources as a result of COVID-19, new funding increases the availability of employment assistance and training services through WorkSource Georgia for the following:

  • Individuals laid off as a result of the COVID-19 crisis
  • Self-employed individuals who lost income (or a large portion of it) as a result of the COVID-19 crisis
  • Dislocated workers (click here for definition)
  • Individuals who have been unemployed for 27 or more consecutive weeks

Individuals in the Atlanta region affected by COVID-19 can receive free job training and upskilling services through their local WorkSource Metro Atlanta office. Click here to locate the right office.
