MAX ALERT: New President & CEO Selected for First Step Staffing, an Atlanta-based Nonprofit Workforce Partner

May 31, 2020

Amelia Nickerson, a member of the MAX Board of Directors and MAX Provider Council, has stepped up to become the new president & CEO for Atlanta-based First Step Staffing. Formerly Vice President of Development & Community Relations, Nickerson now oversees First Step Staffing’s national operations which includes its Atlanta and Duluth offices and offices in Philadelphia, Nashville, and California.

First Step Staffing works to employ those who struggle most to break their own cycles of poverty, giving preference to those who have recently experienced homelessness, military veterans, and individuals who have been previously incarcerated. The nonprofit staffing organization currently employs individuals who were previously homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless while providing door-to-door transportation services for their employees to ensure they can get to work.
