MAX Leadership Network Learns About $12 Million USDOL Emergency Dislocated Worker Grant

June 13, 2020

During our June virtual convening of our MAX Leadership Network, we heard from Joe Dan Banker, Brittany Bullock, and Jamie Jordan with the Technical College System of Georgia’s Office of Workforce Development about the $12 million Dislocated Worker Grant awarded to Georgia from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) and related Workforce and Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding. Banker, Bullock, and Jordan shared the ins and outs regarding the new funding, made possible through the CARES Act, and the implications for employment and training services. The June gathering of the MAX Leadership Network was sponsored by the Atlanta University Center Consortium (AUCC). Network members heard from AUCC executive director Todd Greene about the innovative efforts of the AUCC’s member institutions to promote the advancement of data science and AUCC’s career planning and placement services. ABOUT THE MAX LEADERSHIP NETWORK

The MAX Leadership Network is comprised of workforce leaders who convene regularly to strengthen our collective capacity as workforce developers to meet the needs that employers have for a ready workforce. Members of this network come together to jointly do the following:

  • Learn more about who is doing what, where, and for whom
  • Explore common issues and opportunities, and share ideas for building solutions
  • Make new connections and catalyze partnerships
  • Keep each other updated and informed on ways we can help each other

Members of the Leadership Network represent nonprofit community based organizations, technical colleges, state agencies, local workforce boards, chambers of commerce, intermediaries, and other key partners in workforce.
