CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR WORKFORCE DEVELOPERS

MAX JOB BOARD: TechBridge Seeks Career and Employment Specialist for its Technology Career Program

March 7, 2021

From TechBridge:

TechBridge is a nonprofit that arms other nonprofits on the frontline of alleviating the causes of poverty and technology that will allow them to expand the impact of their mission for the millions of men, women and children who suffer from lack of access to shelter, food, employment, education, healthcare, and financial literacy.

We are seeking a Career and Employment Specialist. The ideal candidate is an action oriented and results driven professional who is passionate about workforce development and providing integrated services of coaching, workforce development, student support, and barrier identification to individuals served in the Technology Career Program.

The Technology Career Program (TCP) is an innovative 16-week program that trains up to 30 individuals per cohort for careers in high-demand technology fields. These jobs are high-paying, but often out of reach of the minority populations that are prevalent in the Atlanta area. As such, the TCP provides comprehensive technical skills training and certification, professional support, job training, and financial services for low-income adults who possess a high school diploma or GED. Diverse groups of students, which include recent high school graduates with limited access to traditional universities, military veterans, and career changers are trained for high-paying jobs in Atlanta’s technology sector.

The Career and Employment Specialist will work closely with the TCP leadership, students and other stakeholders. The Specialist will advise students on career search activities to include job search strategy, company targeting, resume preparation, interview techniques and practice and interactive one on one coaching sessions.  This role requires cultivating relationships with potential employers, supporting placement efforts, tracking data and contributing to successful placement outcomes.
