From Georgia State University:
BACKGROUND
Individuals who work in the helping professions are susceptible to being negatively impacted by the trauma of the people they are trying to help. In addition, COVID-19 is a specific traumatic stressor. Increased demand for services, customers’ possible trauma histories, and the impact of the pandemic can take an emotional toll on workforce development professionals and place them at additional risk for work-related stress.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
In this workshop, participants will learn about the impact of trauma on helping professionals, both personally and professionally. Participants will explore ways to manage reactions to trauma exposure and engage in a self-assessment of their self-care practices. Specific strategies for managing the effects of trauma exposure will be shared and practiced, and participants will develop individual self-care/wellness strategies they can implement after the training.
We look forward to you joining us for this next MAX Academy on Tuesday, March 29th, 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM!
