September 2, 2023

On August 21, 2023, Governor Bryan P. Kemp designated September 2023 as Workforce Development Month in Georgia.

Says the proclamation:

Georgia continues to be the No. 1 state for business because of its business-friendly approach to training a globally competitive workforce. The State of Georgia is committed to ensuring every Georgian has a pathway to success and prosperity through education, training, and hard work; and

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) every year provides more than 330,000 Georgians across the state with access to affordable, quality education pathways through technical education, adult education, apprenticeships, and customized training; and

TCSG and WorkSource Georgia – the state’s federally funded employment & training system – work together to build a ready and skilled workforce for employers in Georgia through locally administered career and employment services by delivering innovative industry-recognized credentials and training opportunities for Georgians to begin or advance their career; and

This month, WorkSource Georgia is launching the WorkSource Georgia Labor Exchange System to help prepare and connect Georgians to employment opportunities through job search assistance and reemployment services; and

As the nation’s top workforce development program, Quick Start trains workers in Georgia to meet the needs of employers responsible for the largest economic growth in the state’s history; and

By skilling and educating Georgia’s workforce, the state continues to be the best place in the nation to live, work, and raise a family; now

I, BRIAN P. KEMP, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim September 2023, as WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT MONTH in Georgia.
