MAX RESOURCE LIBRARY: Recent Reports Detail Latest Issues Affecting Georgia’s Workforce

March 25, 2024

Providing employers with the ready and available workforce they need is an ever-growing and ever-complex nationwide concern. Recent reports produced by the Georgia Chamber and Georgia Association of Manufacturers (GAM) discuss Georgia-specific challenges in addressing this concern. Informed by extensive employer feedback, both reports provide constructive insights on how the state’s workforce partners can address the challenges.

The Georgia Chamber’s Quarterly Economic Report provides business and community leaders with key statistics and trends to advance economic prosperity in the Peach State. This 2023 4Q report focused on the “War for Talent” as it remains the top issue for Georgia business leaders. The report reviews data highlighting every stage of the workforce pipeline to identify opportunities to effectively address our shortages. Click here to review the report. The Georgia Association of Manufacturer’s 2023 Workforce Needs Assessment reviews why focusing on how combatting workforce challenges for manufacturers is mission critical. With more manufacturing jobs available than there are Georgians, stagnant growth in labor force participation, and declining birth rates, the problem isn’t having enough jobs; it’s having enough people.
