On Friday, June 21st, Dr. Barbara Wall, Deputy Superintendent, and Patrick Ledford, Economic Development Liaison, joined MAX to discuss Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE)’s role in building and delivering a statewide workforce development ecosystem. In line with the Georgia Department of Education’s vision to prepare all students for life, CTAE works to cultivate the future talent pipeline of Georgia by enriching students with workforce ready skills that lead to an in-demand career.
Dr. Wall provided an overview of CTAE’s current status:
- CTAE programs are in every school system in Georgia.
- Business & Industry involvement with CTAE is the norm.
- CTAE is actively working to support the career pipeline, assisting with solutions for workforce shortages and other issues.
- 70 percent of high school students and 66 percent of middle school students participate in CTAE in Georgia.
