Be Pro Be Proud is leading the movement to bring a new generation of pride, progress, and professionals to North America’s skilled workforce through its work in six states: Arkansas, Georgia, New Mexico, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Misti Martin, President & CEO of Be Pro Be Proud Georgia, joined MAX on Friday, September 20th, to discuss how the Georgia Chapter is connecting our state’s students with exciting career pathways in the skilled trades.
Supported by philanthropic and corporate partners, Be Pro Be Proud Georgia has reached more than 58,000 students through tour stops at high schools, middle schools, and sites across the state since its inception. During these tours, students are able to experience virtual and augmented reality experiences in commercial truck driving, welding, and automation and robotics.
“The secret in the sauce is that we take the program to students,” says Martin. “We want to show them that there are a lot of careers out there that don’t require a four-year degree and have high growth potential.” Be Pro Be Proud Georgia has identified 20 high demand careers in the skilled trades.
