May 26, 2026

Georgia Life Sciences (GLS) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Program Manager to lead its Biotech Teacher Training Initiative and oversee operations of the GLS Equipment Depot. Now in its seventh year, GLS’s Biotech Teacher Training Initiative is a well-established public-private partnership with the Georgia Department of Education that connects classroom learning to Georgia’s growing life sciences workforce needs. This role is central to advancing Georgia’s life sciences workforce by equipping K–12 educators with the tools, training, and industry connections needed to bring real-world science into the classroom.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, relationship-oriented leader who understands Georgia’s K–12 education landscape and can connect educators, industry partners, and public sector stakeholders, including the Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Science Teachers Association, Career, Technical and Agricultural Education, and others. In addition to strong program management skills, this person should bring a strategic mindset and a desire to help scale and evolve the initiative, deepen community engagement, and support relationships with funders and partners to ensure long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Development

  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of GLS’s Biotech Teacher Training Initiative, providing life science industry-relevant training to 6th-12th grade teachers in Georgia via regional teacher training workshops reaching a minimum of 50 teachers
  • Ensure all program activities adhere to the defined scope, objectives, and requirements of associated grants and funding agreements
  • Design and deliver high-impact teacher training experiences aligned with workforce needs in biotechnology, medtech, and related life sciences sectors
  • Track, measure, and accurately report on program outcomes and efficacy, including educator engagement, impact, and reach
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with K–12 educators, school systems, and district leaders across Georgia

Equipment Depot Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the GLS Equipment Depot
  • Supervise the warehouse manager and any additional contractor or operational support involved in depot logistics, inventory, and distribution
  • Manage donor intake, including corporate and academic equipment contributions
  • Maintain accurate inventory systems and ensure safe handling, storage, and distribution of materials
  • Coordinate educator access, fulfillment and procurement processes to ensure equitable and efficient distribution

Partnerships & Resource Development

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with industry partners to support equipment donations and program engagement
  • Identify and support opportunities tied to state funding initiatives and workforce development programs
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to expand program reach and sustainability

Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure all Depot operations meet safety, compliance, and organizational standards
  • Establish and maintain clear processes for inventory control, safety protocols, and facility management
  • Support reporting requirements for grants, partnerships, and organizational metrics
