Earlier this month, MAX Board Chair Dana Inman announced two recent appointments to the MAX Board of Directors: Lindsay Hill and Ben McCumber. Both bring decades of leadership experience in workforce development and related fields.

Lindsay Hill serves as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Georgia Power, where she leads talent management, diversity, equity and inclusion, labor relations, safety, facilities and HR delivery. A member of Georgia Power’s Management Council, Hill has been with Georgia Power since 2001, beginning in the company’s sales organization before moving into human resources and later serving as HR director and Vice President of Human Resources at Southern Company Gas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Valdosta State University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Troy University. Hill is also active in the community, serving in leadership and board roles with several Atlanta-area organizations.
Hill was appointed to fill the vacant seat reserved for the State Workforce Development Board (SWDB) chair or the chair’s representative. SWDB Chair Stuart Countess asked Hill, who serves on the SWDB, to represent him on the MAX board.

Ben McCumber serves as Assistant Commissioner for Technical Education Initiatives at the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), where he supports initiatives that strengthen career pathways, technical education and connections between education and Georgia’s workforce needs. Prior to his current role, McCumber served as TCSG’s Executive Director of Secondary Initiatives and College and Career Academies, working to expand opportunities that connect high school students with college and career preparation. Before joining TCSG, he served as CEO and Principal of Rockdale Career Academy and held several roles in education and public safety. McCumber holds an Education Specialist degree from Valdosta State University, a master’s degree from Mercer University and a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University.
McCumber, Assistant Commissioner for Academic Affairs with the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), joined the board in the seat reserved for the TCSG commissioner or the commissioner’s appointee. He was appointed by TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier.
Special thanks to MAX board member Kristin Laarhoven for her efforts to esnure both seats were filled. We appreciate her work to strengthen the MAX board and look forward to the experience and perspective Hill and McCumber bring to our organization.
