MAX JOB BOARD: Atlanta Mission Seeks Campus Director for The Shepherds Inn Men’s Shelter

September 26, 2026

The Campus Director establishes a culture and daily operations that gives every man who walks through the doors the chance to encounter Christ, be treated with dignity, and find a real path out of homelessness, poverty, and addiction. Do you feel called to serve in a Christian Ministry? Do you want to serve where you make a difference in the lives of others? Are you looking for a life-changing work experience? If so, consider joining the Atlanta Mission, where life-transforming experiences are provided for everyone joining the team: employees, clients, donors, and volunteers. The Atlanta Mission serves over 1,000 men, women, and children every day by providing food, shelter, clothing, counseling, vocational and spiritual guidance. Through this work, the team experiences and witnesses radical life transformations.

What You Will Own:

  • The Team.  You recruit, develop, and lead the staff who do this work every day — program managers, case managers, and direct care teams. You build a campus where people love where they work as much as they love the work, and you address performance and culture problems early rather than tolerating them.
  • The Program.  You are accountable for faithful implementation of the transformation model and program phases on this campus — the daily schedule, the holistic programming, the fidelity of each phase, and the honest assessment of whether it is actually working. You partner with the Chief Program Officer to close the gaps you find.
  • The Men We Serve.  You are responsible for their safety, their dignity, and their outcomes. You set the standard for how conflict is handled, how crises are met, and how advocacy is done, and you make sure no man on this campus becomes invisible.
  • The Place.  You own the condition of the facility — clean, safe, secure, and maintained. You handle problems quickly, plan for capital needs honestly, and lead emergency response and crisis management when it counts.
  • The Business.  You own the campus budget, compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, licensing and funding obligations, and accurate record keeping. You report real data to senior leadership, including the numbers you wish were better.
  • The Community.  In collaboration with other Departments, you build the partnerships that extend what we can offer — churches, employers, housing providers, government agencies, service partners, and volunteers — so that a man’s path does not end at our front door.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Resident Support: Provides leadership and guidance to a team of staff members who assist and support residents in their day-to-day lives, including access to essential services, counseling, and case management
  • Service Program Implementation and Integrity: Facilitates the implementation of the transformation model and the assigned program phases to the campus. Collaborates with the CPO to assess for accuracy of implementation and puts processes in place accordingly. This also includes managing a campus schedule to ensure clients are engaged in holistic programming, adjusted for special events and volunteer opportunities.
  • Budget Management: Oversees the budget and financial resources for the facility, ensuring efficient allocation of funds to meet the needs of residents.
  • Compliance and Regulation: Ensures the programs and facility operate in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, licensing, and funding requirements. This includes ensuring the maintenance of health and safety standards and documentation.
  • Community Outreach: Assists in actively building relationships with local organizations, government agencies, community partners, and volunteers to collaborate on resources, services, and support for residents.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handles any disputes or conflicts that may arise among residents or between residents and staff members, creating a harmonious living environment.
  • Staff Supervision: Recruits, trains, and supervises staff members, including program managers and direct care workers, to ensure consistent client care is offered and ongoing staff development occurs. Provides the team the vision, direction, and development needed to execute on operating plans.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Monitors and safeguards accurate record keeping, reports data to senior leadership and stakeholders, and documents the progress and challenges faced by residents and staff according to the transformation model.
  • Facility Management: Oversees the maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the facility, ensuring that it remains a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and guests. This includes addressing any facility-related issues promptly and coordinating large-scale repairs and improvements as needed.
  • Strategic Planning and Initiative Implementation: Contributes to the execution of the organization’s strategic plan and initiatives, facilitating processes that align with the long-term goals of the organization. This may involve assessing community needs, identifying areas for growth and improvement, and spearheading projects that enhance the quality of services and support provided to residents. This also includes monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to ensure they contribute to the overall strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Emergency Response: Develops and implements emergency response and crisis management plans to ensure the safety and well-being of residents during critical situations.
  • Advocacy: Serves as an advocate for the residents, ensuring that they receive fair treatment and have access to resources and opportunities to improve their lives.
