The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) is hosting its 30 Minutes of Excellence – July: Moving Employers from Hesitation to Confidence – Strategies for Engaging Employers Around Disability Income on Wednesday, July 22nd, from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
Workforce professionals often encounter employers who express uncertainty or hesitation when discussing the employment of individuals with disabilities. This session will provide practical strategies for engaging employers in productive conversations that move beyond assumptions and toward opportunity-focused thinking. Participants will learn approaches for addressing common employer concerns, navigating (American Disability Act) ADA-related conversations, and effectively communicating the value individuals with disabilities bring to the workforce. The session will also explore promising practices workforce professionals can use to strengthen employer partnerships, increase employer confidence, and create more inclusive employment opportunities for job seekers with disabilities.
