National League of Cities (NLC): Creative Processes: Expanding Impact Through Arts and Culture
The National League of Cities (NLC) is hosting Creative Processes: Expanding Impact Through Arts and Culture on Thursday, July 9th, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
This is the third session of the Health and Wellbeing Capacity Building Series: From Vision to Action. This five-session learning experience is designed to help cities strengthen their ability to advance community wellbeing through clear frameworks, actionable policy tools, meaningful data, sustainable resources, and creative processes grounded in arts and culture to amplify impact. When cities face complex challenges, city staff often rely on familiar solutions and established workflows. Whether a challenge is new or deeply rooted, creative processes grounded in arts and culture can expand how cities approach problem-solving, engage communities more meaningfully, and amplify impact.
Participants will learn how artists and cultural practitioners can partner with municipal teams and communities to introduce new ways of seeing, questioning, and working. Whether through creative engagement in community or collaborative problem-solving within city systems, arts-based processes can create space for experimentation, surface new perspectives, and generate innovative strategies that traditional approaches may overlook.
